Wrinkle treatments are made from a purified protein neuromodulator, that temporarily blocks the nerve signal to facial muscles causing them to relax.  With reduced muscle movement, the overlying dermis also stops moving, causing lines to soften, leaving a smoother & firmer skin.

With experienced and specialized professionals, the complication rate is extremely rare, however certain risks can never be completely eliminated.  

Rare side effects include lumps, uneven results, product migration and vascualr occlusion.

• You are taking Anticoagulants (blood thinning medication)

Biomodulator restores radiance, increases skin firmness & elasticity, as well as deeply hydrating the skin.  Treatment fuels the stimulation of collagen and elastin, responsible for skin laxity, structure, and hydration; improving skin quality, tone, and appearance of fine lines, lasting 6 to 12 months.  

Bioremodulator is placed just below the skin’s surface over a recommended 2 sessions, 4 weeks apart. 

Treatment will take approximately 30 minutes, including time for topical local anaesthetic application.  The maximum effect of Bioremodulator is usually seen 2 to 3 months after the second treatment.

Treatments can be repeated every six months as needed to maintain your glowing results, or as recommended during individual consultation.

 Patients who have active skin cancer in the area they want to treat should avoid SkinPen sessions. Those with irritated skin, open wounds, bleeding disorders and allergies to stainless steel also won’t be able to receive treatment. Lastly, patients taking medications that contain isotretinoin and women who are pregnant or nursing, won’t be approved for this treatment. 

 What to Expect Following a SkinPen® Procedure:

 This is dependent on the patient – the recovery process is slightly different for everyone directly after a SkinPen procedure. Most patients are able to resume their usual activities the next day. However, this excludes any activities that would produce excess sweat and irritate the skin following your SkinPen session. 

Expect:

• Day 0 (day of procedure): Moderate redness, tight, sunburned sensation. Nothing on face except Hydrogel (Lift), apply as frequently as needed.
• Day 1 – Mild to moderate redness and swelling, similar to a sunburn. No sunscreen or makeup.
• Day 2 – Some persistent redness and swelling may be present. May apply sunscreen and makeup.
• Day 3 – Most redness, bruising, and swelling almost gone.
• Day 4 – Return to normal appearance without makeup.

 Pre-Procedure Instructions & Precautions

• Avoid sun exposure/burns twenty-four (24) hours prior to treatment.
• Discontinue use of retinoids twelve (12) hours prior to treatment.
• You should not have an active breakout, active cold sores, or open lesions. If this occurs, your medical microneedling treatment should be rescheduled.
• Allow at least (twelve) 12 hours after autoimmune therapies before having a medical microneedling treatment.
• Wait six (6) months following isotretinoin (Accutane) use.
• Skin types Fitzpatrick IV-VI, pigment may darken prior to lightening.
• Wait at least forty-eight (48) hours before or after Botox treatment to have medical microneedling treatment.
• Wait at least one (1) week before or after any fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, etc.
• Wait at least one (1) month before or after laser treatments such as IPL, VBeam, etc. or chemical peels such as Vitalize, Rejuvenate, etc. or Microdermabrasion treatments.

Post-Procedure Instructions & Precautions for first 24 Hours

• Only use the Rescue Calming Complex and the Lift HA Serum for the next twenty-four(24) hours. Do not use any other skincare products or makeup (cleansers, moisturizers, or sunblocks).
• After 24 hours from procedure you can also use a gentle cleanser and a zinc oxide sunblock as well as continue using the Rescue Calming Complex and the Lift HA Serum.
• Avoid exercise for three (3) days following the procedure (including procedure day). Bruising is rare however, do not plan an important event within 2 weeks of treatment.
• Avoid unprotected sun exposure for 2 weeks after treatment. Use zinc oxide and hat/shade to protect treated areas.

It’s best if you use skincare products recommended by your therapist following SkinPen sessions. After each treatment, your skin has microchannels that absorb nutrients and moisture more effectively, which is why the products you use matter.   Certain products end up causing an allergic reaction when the skin has never absorbed them that deeply.
